News Flash!!!

I believe that our blog deserves to have a NEWS FLASH!! Afterall, what good is a blog if it doesn't at least mention the important events in the authors' lives?

This last Saturday, Amy finally had her baby! Hallaluja, we all say. :) A relief to have pregnancy over, and a relief to finally have that little boy here for us to love.

Late Friday night, Amy started feeling contractions, and realized that this was it -- it was the real deal. So Amy and Marc packed up for a long wait at the hospital. They got there, and only a few hours later (to everyone's suprise), it was over.

At 12:54 am, Saturday, June 20th, little Ethan Marc Fuentes was born into the world, weighing 7 pounds, 4.4 ounces. He was perfectly healthy, with a load of dark hair, measuring 21 inches.

Of course, Grandma and Aunts were super excited, and rushed over that morning to meet him. What a beautiful little boy!

Amy was absolutely glowing. She didn't use an epideral, and is very happy. She is recovering wonderfully, and their little family is ready to go make some wonderful memories! Well, maybe when Ethan gets a little older...for now, he will just sleep. :)

(P.S. This gives Amy a great excuse if she posts late this time. So we'll forgive her.)

Footsie Favorites!

As April said, who can choose their favorite shoes? Here is my own collection of favorite shoes. I would add more to it, but they are getting too beat up to wear anymore. So here is my active collection. I wear these red flats almost every day now. I just bought them while I was in Utah. They are my ruby slippers.
I also bought these while I was in Utah. They were $3 at the D.I. and I love their flapper feel.
I bought these shoes for $6 from Ebay and they fit my feet like gloves. (That is, like gloves fit your hands... gloves don't fit my feet very well...)
It takes guts to wear gold shoes, but as April has discovered, they can be fahhh-bulous. I like to wear them with a red top. They make me feel like a movie star!

But honestly - if you want to know my REAL favorite shoes, I would say: no shoes are my favorite shoes. Bare feet are my favorite shoes! So with no further ado, here is a tribute to some of my favorite feet.

This photo needs no explanation:

The following photo is a picture I took of Joseph's feet next to Dad's/Grandpa Atkin's feet:

I delight in Joseph's little feet. They are fat like stuffed sausages! He is just figuring out that they belong to him. So for my Footie Finale, enjoy this little video!

How to Choose?

Rachel, really? I have to pick my very favorite? Now this is a hard challenge for me. Rachel used to be the shoe person, but recently, I have really grown my own little collection.

Do I pick my favorite heels? One of every color? My favorite flats? My favorite Sunday shoes? my favorite every day shoes? I don't even know. Let's see...I can narrow it down to my favorite three pairs...

Then how do I decide? Well, I guess that I will have to pick a favorite pair of the day. :) That way, the other pairs don't get jealous.

My most favorite pair of shoes for the day are my dancing shoes. They were certainly my most expensive shoes. I can't wear them outside, and I shouldn't wear them whenever I feel like it, but they make me very happy. Last fall, I took a Latin Ballroom class down at BYU, and before that I took Social Dance in High School. I love to dance. These shoes are especially made for dancing. They fit my foot like they were made for them. The sole is soft, flexible leather, so that I have freedom to rise and fall with the dance, and even point my toe. A strap wraps around the top of my foot around my arch to make the shoe stay entirely connected to my foot, and give some arch support. They feel amazing on my feet, and besides, they are pretty! I am hoping to take a lot of dance classes at BYU. These shoes will be well worth their cost.
